Random Walkabout

This is what Mr. LTC & I do on weekends - spontaneously pick an area and explore in true free-spiritedness.

I love looking at the old and unique residential quarters in Hong Kong. Here are some interesting ones that I've stumbled upon.
This was part of an old 4-storey building known as 唐楼. Rejuvenated!
An apartment in Causeway Bay. Love the line of potted plants & the white windows.
A car that matches the building @ Tai Ping Shan St, Sheung Wan
A tattoo studio that uses the "Two Sisters" motif for its poster.
Lots of graffiti in Sheung Wan. This one is propagating saving energy.
30s on the escalator = 22min 30s of light
Cafe Loisl - Artisan Coffee. Made a mental note to return.
Ms. M.

We took a bus to Upper Happy Valley to see what our neighbours are up to.
Apartments with garages.
There is actually a park up there! Rules of the park: No cycling, no dogs.
The grass land is uneven so you may trip & fall.
Love the facade! (Along Wong Nai Chung Rd/Stubbs Rd intersection)
View from Stubbs Rd
Benches for lounging to enjoy whizzing vehicles & pollution. How thoughtful...
Mod-dish apartment with the orange colour & curves.

This mansion looks straight out from a 50s/60s HK film.

Sartorially Yours launches Collection 8!

Not enough of shopping after all those post-CNY sales?  Do we girls ever need a reason to shop? [Actually I do. I shop when I have a need for a particular item...and when I just feel like buying something...yeah, that pretty much covers all...]

Anyway, Sartorially Yours is here with their Collection 8 which emcompasses dresses, tops, bottoms,  chic office wear, whimsical casual pieces and accessories, whatever you want.

I particularly like those pleated skirts that are all the rage now! Pleated skirts are great additions to your wardrobe. It never goes wrong whether you are aiming for a classic look or a vintage-inspired whimsical getup.

Well...shop away!

Le Trésor Caché Turns One!

How time flies...It's been one year since Le Trésor Caché made its debut. HAPPY HATCHDAY TO US!

From an unknown shabby little shop, we have grown from zero to 529 (& counting!) fans on Facebook. A tiny footprint but hey! A baby's first step is always the one that a parent will always cherish and be proud of.

I must confess, that my will in running this shop has wavered at times. But I persevere, knowing that there are supporters out there, strangers or loved ones back home, who would love to see the shop going on. I am especially motivated when I'm told by customers that they wish they can buy everything in the shop!

To thank and reward you, you and YOU who adore Le Trésor Caché, we will be having our 1st Anniversary Sale from now till 29th February. And for those who are born in February like us, the deal is especially sweet!
Here's to many more years ahead! Cheers!

Back from Home Visit

Earlier this month, I returned to Singapore for a buddy's wedding while Mr. LTC's objective for the trip was to complete the 42 km Standard Chartered run.

Drama unveiled while we were retrieving our luggage. One of them was waiting for us while another had gone missing! And the worst thing was my bridesmaid dress (the one I was supposed to wear the next morning!) was in that bag, along with my makeup kit! There was a similar size black America Tourister still waiting on the conveyor belt, so obviously, some joker has mistaken our black Hush Puppies for theirs! (I wonder how it could have been mistaken!)

A report was made and fingers crossed as Mr. LTC and I left the airport. A call was made to Ms. Dependable, one of the bridesmaids, for the address of the shop where the dress was purchased. (I couldn't be freaking out the Bride on the night before, right?) Ms. Dependable managed to wrestle one dress from the shop which was reserved for another customer and I needed to just pick it up. "Keep breathing...", Ms. Dependable says. Foundation, blusher, shirt, socks, undergarments...Mr. LTC and I were frantically making a list of things to buy that night while on the way to the shop. And then the airport called!

All mayhem ended and we could finally breathe...
The wedding was heartwarming and the gatecrashing brought loads of laughter and tears to us. Best wishes to Ger and her Mr. Washington!

Another objective achieved during this trip was to indulge in Singaporean food! On my checklist: bak chor mee, BBQ chicken wings, BBQ stingray, char kway teow, fried hokkien mee, or luak, chicken rice, lor duck rice, nasi lemak, roti prata, Ya Kun. All struck off! (hand rubbing my tummy...)

Meeting up with friends (and their new-borns!) was definitely in the books. My weekends were "fully booked" months before my trip and I was almost out every weekday nights too. Too many diverse groups of friends to catch up with, too little time. But it's ok. I will be back in Singapore during CNY. CNY in Hong Kong is boring for us because there's no relatives for us to visit and no mahjong (for me).
Le'etoile Cafe @ Owen Road
Bistrot Du Vin @ Shaw House
It's extremely hard to get my momentum back and listing my products after this trip. And with Christmas & New Year around the corner, hosting relatives in HK, CNY, there's so many things to look forward to! It looks like the holiday mood isn't dissipating anytime soon.
